PESHAWAR: Another patient of dengue fever dies in Peshawar with the total number of deaths due to the epidemic reaches 38. Yet the lackluster attitude of the hospital authorities is doing no good to the situation as they are doing nothing to stop the spread of dengue larva.

The Frontier Post during a survey of the government hospitals, have found out that the car parking of Lady Reading Hospital is full of stagnant water which can easily be sanctuary for the dengue larvae.

The dangerous situation of the Car Parking area near the emergency gate of LRH in terms of dengue spread can be seen in the picture attached with the story. It is strange and shocking that the hospital authorities have totally failed to look into the matter.

When asked, an official of the hospital on condition of anonymity informed The Frontier Post that whenever it rained water got stagnant in the car parking making it difficult for the motorists to use the parking. He also feared that the stagnant water may result in spread of dengue fever in the area.

A visitor Sohail Khan after parking his vehicle informed this scribe that the LRH hospital administration has failed to take any action as since over one month the water was there in the parking. He appealed to the Minister for Health Shahram Tarakai to take immediate action in this regard.

This scribe tried to contact the administration but no one was available for the comment.
