AIG Ashraf Noor, his gunman martyred in Peshawar suicide blast

PESHAWAR: Additional Inspector General (AIG) Muhammad Ashraf Noor and his gunman were martyred in a suicide blast in Hayatabad area of Peshawar on Friday morning.

Police told media that  a suicide bomber crashed his motorcycle to AIG Muhammad Ashraf Noor vehicle near Tatara Park of Hayatabad in which AIG Headquarter Mohammad Ashraf Noor and his gunman were martyred.

CCPO Tahir Khan told that at least six others in the AIG’s squad were injured in the blast and they were shifted to nearby hospital.

He added that AIG Ashraf Noor was on his way to work when his vehicle came under attack and adding that the vehicle caught fire after the blast.

Police informed that AIG Ashraf Noor hailed from Gilgit Baltistan and joined the police force in 1989. He previously served as AIG Elite Force Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Security forces cordoned off the area and started search operation in the surrounding areas.
