ANF seizes 51.4 kg drugs worth 2.3 bln

ISLAMABAD:The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has apprehended 25 drug traffickers including one lady smuggler and recovered 51.4 kg drugs worth Rs 2.3 billion from their possession in 22 counter narcotics operation conducted across the country in the last few days.
According to ANF spokesman, three vehicles have also been impounded in the operations. The seized drugs comprised of 21.4 Kg Hashish, 8.6 Kg Heroin, 6.2 Kg Opium, 3.7 Kg Methamphetamine, 880 Grams Amphetamine and 510000 Xanax Tablets weighing 10.7 Kg.
According to details, ANF Quetta recovered 5 Kg Opium by arresting a peddler identified as Muhammad Sadiq resident of Karachi was arrested near Sindh Transport Company, RCD Road, Hub, District Lasbella.
Likewise, ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused Zakir, a resident of Nowshera from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad on suspicious of ingested narco-filled capsules. He was admitted in
Rawalpindi Hospital for delivery of capsules. 60x Heroin filed capsules weighing 380 Grams have been recovered so far. The arrested accused was traveling to Abu Dhabi by PIA Flight No. PK – 261.
ANF Lahore arrested an accused Ittefaq Ahmed resident of Sargodha at Multan International Airport, traveling to Saudi Arabia by Flight No. EK-631 and recovered 880 Grams Amphetamine, concealed in his trolley bag. ANF Lahore arrested the accused Nadeem Qasim, a resident of Gujrat at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore who was traveling to Madina by Flight No. EK-623 and recovered 1.4 Kg Methamphetamine which was concealed in a steel pot placed in his trolley bag.
The ANF Lahore recovered 250 Grams Opium and 200 Grams Hashish by arresting two local drug peddlers identified as Muhammad Aslam and Ghulam Abbas both residents of Lahore. They were arrested near Rafique Pan Shop, Amin Park No. 2, Malipura Petrol Pump, Band Road, Lahore.
In another operation, ANF Lahore recovered 450 Grams Hashish from personal possession of an accused identified as Muhammad Ayub resident of Bhakkar. He was arrested near Bisti Mina Pooja, Muslims Kot, District Bhakkar.
In yet another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Honda Motorcycle and a Suzuki Pickup near Peer Budoya Sultan, District Bhakkar and recovered 1 Kg Opium which was concealed in secret cavities of the vehicle. Two accused arrested on spot identified as Sajjad Hussain and Abdul Ghafar both resident of Bhakkar.
In another operation, ANF Lahore apprehended Ali Raza resident of Sialkot at Sialkot Airport, while he was boarding for Italy by Flight No. QR-631 and recovered 1.1 Kg Heroin concealed in Dough Machine being carried by the accused.
ANF Peshawar recovered 980 Grams Heroin from personal possession of two accused namely Zahir and Ibadullah both resident of Charsadda traveling in a passenger vehicle.
They were arrested near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. In another operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 350 Grams Opium from personal possession of accused namely Asad Ullah resident of Charsadda traveling in a van.
He was arrested near Nasata Interchange Charsadda. In another operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyota Hiace near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and recovered 4.4 Kg Hashish from possession of an accused namely Lal Jan resident of Peshawar.
In yet another operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 2 Kg Hashish from personal possession of accused identified as Gul Akram resident of Khyber Agency, who was travelling in a Bus.
The accused was arrested near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. In fifth operation, ANF Peshawar arrested an accused identified as Imran Zaman resident of Bannu at Peshawar International Airport, traveling to Saudi Arabia by flight No. NL-723 and recovered 11000 Xanax Tablets weighing 720 Grams which were concealed in his trolley bag. In sixth operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 445 Grams Hashish from personal possession of a lady identified as Nazia Bibi resident of Khyber Agency near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar.
The ANF Peshawar recovered 1.1 Kg Hashish from personal possession of an accused identified as Hanif-Ur-Rehman resident of Bajour Agency, traveling in a Coaster. He was arrested at main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. ANF Peshawar recovered 2.4 Kg Hashish from personal possession of an accused identified as Zari Gul resident of Jhelum from main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar while he was traveling in a Hiace.
In another operation, ANF Peshawar during routine checking arrested a lady passenger Dilfarooza Bibi resident of Malakand while she was traveling in a passenger vehicle and recovered 9.6 Kg Hashish.
She was arrested at Main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. ANF Peshawar arrested two passengers identified as Syed Rasool and Ahmad both resident of Khyber Agency while
they were traveling in passenger Hiace and recovered 2.2 Kg Hashish from their personal possession. The accused were arrested near A-One Filling Station, Pusha Bridge, CRBC Cantt, D.I. Khan. In another operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyota Hiace and recovered 1 Kg Hashish from the personal possession of a person Muhammad Riaz resident of Orakzai Agency.
ANF Karachi intercepted a consignment from Pakistan International Container Terminal, Seaport, Karachi and recovered 4.3 Kg Heroin concealed in it. The consignment was destined to
Malyasia. Drugs were concealed in 11x Cartons of Shoes containing 132 Pairs of shoes. In another operation, ANF Karachi intercepted a Container at Port Qasim, Seaport, Karachi and recovered 40000x Xanax Tablets weighing 10 Kg. The container was destined to UAE. Two arrested accused identified as Junaid Sheikh and Imran Baig both resident of Karachi. In third operation, ANF Karachi intercepted a parcel being sent to UK (London) through AM Express Cargo & Courier Service, Saddar Karachi and recovered 1.8 Kg Heroin concealed in 3x bread makers. In another operation, ANF Karachi arrested Imran Ali resident of Sargodha at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi and recovered 2 Kg Methamphetamine concealed in a Jar. The arrested accused was destined to Saudi Arabia by Flight No. GF-751.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stationsand further investigations are underway.
