Coming generations to pay price for loans: Asfandyar

PESHAWAR: President Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan has said that the coming generation of the province would pay the price of the massive loans obtained by PTI led KP Government for the construction of Swat Expressway.

Addressing at function in connection with death anniversaries of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan at Damam Saudi Arabia, the ANP leader alleged that the PTI government has obtained loans on huge mark up rate from the international donors Swat Expressway. The PTI he said badly damaged the economic condition of the province due to their incompetent and inefficient economic team.

He suggested that Swat Expressway should be linked with Motorway and Indus Highway should be converted into Expressway. Similarly highways be constructed from Dir to Chitral, Dir to Bajaur and then to Jandola in South Waziristan agency to benefit the tribesmen through CPEC.

Asfandyar paid rich tributes to Baacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan for their services and struggle in expelling the Britishers from the sub continent.

The ANP in its five years government fought for the rights of the people of the province, obtained identity for them and secured profits from the NFC for the province. The ANP’s struggle for the provincial autonomy is an enlightened chapter of the political history of the province.

Those insulting peoples mandate and dreaming to eliminate ANP from political arena would soon come to know about their political position in the next general election.

The person who could not save his home twice how could protect the rights and interest of the Pukhtoons. The ANP leader reiterated that he presented himself for the accountability and demanded impartial accountability of all so that all are stand exposed to their electorates.

EPI introduces rota vaccine in routine immunization program

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department and Expanded Program on Immunization conduct a one day Media Orientation Program for Journalist on the new entry of Rota vaccine  here in a local hotel on Monday.

Dr. Jamil from UNICEF said that the vaccine is very important for children as every year thousands of children died from diarrhea and especially from Rota virus in the country.

He further added that as EPI include the Rota vaccine in the routine immunization program which will prevent and decrease the ration of Neonatal Maternal Ration in the country and specifically in KP.

On the occasion Director EPI Muhammad Akram Shah said that the EPI program is further strengthen its program in districts level to reach every child as the department adopt modern techniques to reach and strengthen the system.

He accepted that there are some area in Peshawar where EPI centre were not available but the department were working and recently hire rented house where eight EPI centre were established while other area will be monitored by the outdoor facilitator of EPI.

He share his views about the Rota vaccine and said that it is very important for children specially it will be done from six month to ten month , adding that in Pakistan 38 % children were died from Rota virus while the other ratio were 62 %.

He further added that 21 % children were hospitalized because of the Rota vaccine in Pakistan, adding that 49 % children were affected from Rota virus in Pakistan, Nigeria and Congo countries.

He informed that in Pakistan and especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa routine immunization among children is weak, adding that main reason for weak vaccination is parent’s education as most of the parents were not aware of the importance of immunization and they were not immunized their children.

He further added that it Rota virus is a communicable disease and it can spread and can affect other children if necessary measure were not taken by the parents and doctors.

He further added that already the KP government passed vaccination act 2017 and according to that act if a parents and other responsible person not vaccinate children he may face at least three year impressments and other fine punishment.

On the occasion deputy director EPI Dr. Taimur Shah, Dr. Khail Bangash and Dr. Kamran from UNICEF briefed the journalist on Rota vaccine and its importance for the children.

Fata lady health workers protest for unpaid salaries

PESHAWAR: Flaying the health directorate of Fata Secretariat on Monday, the lady health workers belonging to various tribal agencies asked the relevant authorities to release their seven months due salaries forthwith otherwise they would boycott upcoming drive against police virus in tribal areas.

Holding a protest demonstration in front of Fata Secretariat at Warsak Road Peshawar and chanted full throat slogans against health department officials and other relevant authorities for lingering their matter. Holding placards and banners carrying slogans in favor of their demands. Lady health workers came hard on authorities concerned for its failure to release their unpaid salaries.

They informed that they had been offering services and performing duties in different health units of tribal agencies but the incompetent authorities have not paid them for the last seven months. Regarding the authorities concerned, they clear said they have submitted written applications in this regard but they only consol them despite resolving their genuine issues.

Because of the unpaid salaries, protestors said they had been facing various monetary problems and that their troubles in last few months have enhanced. Beside critical situation in parts of tribal agencies, they clearly stated they have profoundly carried out jobs but in response, the authorities are least bothered to solve the issue.

Angry protestors threatened they would boycott the forthcoming campaign against polio virus across the Fata if their due salaries were not paid on time. The protestors called off their demonstration soon after officials of Fata Secretariat ensured them of releasing their due salaries within a week of time.

Because of the protest continuing for few hours has disrupted the smooth flow of traffic and other movements on main Warsak Road in provincial capital and people faced with problems while reaching to their destinations.

Peace restored in KP, FATA, says Governor

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that peace has been restored both in the province and FATA and the country is leading towards economic stability. He further added that we do not have any dearth of natural resources, yet there is dire need to ensure their efficient utilization.

If we succeed in making best utilization of the means, available in the country, not only the economic condition of the province and FATA will be improved but the entire country will also be greatly benefited. This, he stated while addressing the businessmen and traders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry during a ceremony in honour of newly elected cabinet of FPCCI which was followed by lunch in Peshawar on Monday. Senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, President, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zahidullah Shinwari, Newly elected President FPCCI Ghazanfar Bilour, S.M Munir, Ifitkhar Ali Malik and a number of other Industrialists and Traders from all over the country were also present on the occasion. Governor also congratulated the newly elected president of FPCCI and other members of the cabinet.

“Peace has been restored both in the province and FATA because of the immortal sacrifices offered by the people alongside the Pakistan Army and the security forces and now we must focus upon promoting investment for strengthening the economy of the province”, the Governor said. He said that the entrepreneurs and the traders should contribute their significant role by availing the opportunities being offered under the CPEC project to strengthening the national economy. While referring to the available opportunities in this respect, he said, although “We have got the CPEC project because of the sincere efforts of the incumbent government and with its proper implementation not only the problem of unemployment will be controlled but it will also lead us to have a prosperous and stable future for the country”, the Governor said.

Derogatory remarks by PTI lawmaker invite uproar by Opp in PA

PESHAWAR (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday witnessed uproar when the joint opposition staged protest in front of Speaker dais against remarks of a Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) legislator Zar Gul who used derogatory remarks against the Parliament.

The ruckus started when Parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) Sardar Aurang Zaib Nalotha referring to PTI Chief Imran Khan’s remarks against the Parliament said the Parliament was a supreme institution and asked Speaker Asad Qaiser to allow the House to pass a resolution against PTI Chief for using inappropriate language for the Parliament.

Speaker Asad Qaiser asked PTI legislator Zar Gul to respond to the concern demonstred by PMLN parliamentary leader.

PTI lawmaker Zar Gul while endorsing the remarks of his party’s leader Imran Khan said the language should be used for the Parliament as the parliamentarians were thinking to bring amendments in Khatm-e-Nabuat law.

The remarks of Zar Gul provoked the joint opposition who chanted slogans ‘shame, shame’ against Zar Gul and gather in front of Speaker dais and staged protest seeking apology by Zar Gul.

Though the Speaker expunged the remarks of Zar Gul but the joint opposition insisted on the apology, resulting in adjournment of the proceeding of the House till February 12.

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017 and The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Establishment of Information Technology Board (Amendment) Ordinance 2017 were tabled in House.

These ordinances were tabled by Senior Minister for Local Government Inayat Ullah Khan and Minister for Law Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi respectively.

Meeting held at MMC to avoid unnecessary referral of patient

PESHAWAR: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Director General Health Dr. Ayub Rose here at Mardan Medical Complex to further strengthen the DHQs hospitals and not referred the patients to THQs hospitals.

In the meeting Board of Governor of MMC Mardan, Medical Director MMC , MS DHQ Mardan, HD of MMC , MS DHQs Swabi, DMS Batkhela,MS THQ Takht bhai and other health officials were present.

In the meeting the health officials were informed that the DHQs hospital across the province was referred the patients to other teaching hospital including Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, Khyber Teaching Hospital and Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar.

The officials were further informed that Mardan Medical Complex were referred the patients to the teaching hospital without any reason and the doctors were not take any serious case although all the facilities were available in DHQs hospital including MMC.

On the occasion DG health Dr. Ayub Rose said that the health department first priority is to provide all the facilities to DHQs hospitals across the province, adding that the government was provide record recruitment of doctors for DHQs hospitals.

He further added that the department has increased the health allocation from 18 billion rupees in 2014 but now it was reach to 67 billion in 2017-18 while doctors, nurses and paramedics were also recruited with record number across the province.

DG health strictly advice the health officials of all DHQs hospital to not referred any patients to THQs hospital as already LRH, HMC and KTH were burden of patients.

PML-N to come up with majority of votes in 2018: Amir Muqam

PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Prime Minister and President Pakistan Muslim League-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engr. Aamir Muqan Sunday said that the people of Lahore have categorical rejected Imran Khan and his dearth politics and hopefully the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would reject him and his party in the forthcoming general election in 2018.

This he said while addressing a big joining meeting in Tarat and Madyan, District Swat, Malakand Division. On this occasion, member of the Union Council Mian Shujat Ali, former candidate PK-85 Mian Shahid Ali Khan, former member of the National Assembly Mian Sardar Ali, Dr. Shahbir Mian, Faramosh, Tehsil Councilor Tirat Haji Shahbir Ahmad and Village Councilor Shahgai Shahgram Farid Ullah along with his relatives and hundreds and thousands of supporters joined Pakistan Muslim League-N by reposing full confidence on the leadership of former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Engr. Amir Muqam.

Engr. Amir Muqam said that now days have gone when the leadership of PTI and ANP befooling innocent people by committing false promises instead of solving the problems was being confronted by the people of Swat.

He said the politics of dishonesty and lying have rejected by the people of Malakand Dvision. He said in 2008 people of Swat voted Awami National Party and in 2013 they voted Imran Khan but none of them could come and rescued them in the hour of need. Both the leadership of ANP and PTI were just confined to bogus slogans instead of addressing people’s problems.

He said only PML-N have taken practical steps by launching mega projects and helped the people of Malakand Division to come up from dark age. He said, normalcy has been restored to Swat and the rest of Malakand Division as a result of wide-ranging policies implemented by PML-N only to serve the people without any discrimination.

He said the masses have given matchless response to the call of the former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in District Haripur as hundreds and thousands of people turned up in the public meeting and with the grace of Almighty Allah people would welcome former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif during his address in Peshawar on February 4, 2018.

Engr. Amir Muqam said that the people of Malakand Division have always supported the cause of PML-N and hopefully they would continue supporting the party. He also congratulated those joined the party and expressed the hope that after their join the PML-N would further be strengthen in NA-30 and PK-85.

22 people arrested by district admin

PESHAWAR: District administration Peshawar arrested 22 people who were selling vehicles on Ring Road Peshawar on Sunday.

On the recommendation of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Islam Zaib , Additional deputy commissioner Shaid Ali Khan and ADC Irfan Ali along with traffic police SHO Pishtakhara Police Station raid on Ring Road Peshawar and arrested 22 people who were selling vehicle.

The official said that because of the illegal purchasing and selling on Ring Road on Sunday Bazar increase the traffic rush on Ring Road Peshawar.

They further added that DC Peshawar has strickly said that anyone who were involve in enchroachment should be deal strickly, adding that last week around 71 people were arrested who were involve in selling of vehicle on Ring Road Peshawar.

They added that as BRT project is under process in Peshawar as most of the traffic is converted to Ring Road Peshawar but because of the Sunday Bazar where people were standing their vehicles for selling increase the traffic rush.

KP advices health depart to follow vaccination act 2017

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has directed the health department to follow the vaccination act 2017 and advice the department to follow the act with its true spirit. This was said in a notification issue by the KP government to the health department a copy of which is available with The Frontier Post.

Meanwhile the health department also changes the schedule of vaccination program for children as now the children will get from six weeks to ten weeks Rota vaccine along with normal vaccination.

It was also said that the children will get normal vaccination while they will also get measles vaccination from six weeks to ten weeks.

It is further said in the notification that those children who were week for injectible vaccination they will not be vaccinated while special certificate of fitness will be issued to children for vaccination. The injectibe vaccination decision should be issued by the provincial Revive Committee

The health department also in its notification said that according to the vaccination Act 2017 special officer will be inducted while medical officer will be in charge of the vaccination in the Union Council. In the notification it was also said that Jail superintend should be in charge of Jail for vaccination campaign, adding that for child protection unit and principle of the school will be the in charge of the vaccination campaign.

In another good move by the health department and KP government that Burn & Trauma Centre for Peshawar will be start working in June 2018 this year. There were three consecutive government has completed its tenure including in KP but not completed the much awaited project of 120 bed hospital of the province as people of KP were shifted to Punjab and other area of Pakistan for burn treatment.

Keeping this tradition thriving, PakTurk Peshawar has been arranging Inter Schools Mathematics Olympiad (ISMO) for the last 12 years for the students of classes 5-8, of both private and government institutions, of KP.
