Dissatisfied KP college teachers to protest in front of Imran’s residence today

PESHAWAR: Teachers of government colleges from across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province will stage protest on Tuesday (today) in front of Bani Gala residence of chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.

More than 600 ad-hoc teachers of KP and FATA are protesting from the past one week and boycotted educational activities in the province and demanding regularization of their contracts which would be expire on October 31.

Negotiations between the protesting teachers and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government were failed after that they decided to stage sit-in front of Imran Khan’s residence for their demands on October 17. The association rejected the board of governors system being devised by the government for public colleges.

Jamshed Khan leaders of the association has said that we want from government to announce professional allowance which is provided to school teachers but not to college teachers which is injustice and also demanded their up-gradation.

CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak has said during the meeting with the teachers association and agreed on to take back the decision regarding the formation of a board of governors in colleges but denied to fulfill the demands of professional allowance and up-gradation as it will put additional financial allowance on the provincial government.
