ECP disqualifies Shah Muhammad as special assistant to CM KP

PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan has declared on Thursday that Malik Shah Muhammad Khan ineligible as a special assistant to CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak.

As per details, Malik Shah Muhammad Khan was in the fourth schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) 1997 and earlier his brother Gulbaz Khan was disqualified from the district council Bannu on the similar grounds.

According to sources, both the persons belong to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Fourth Schedule means a list of “proscribed” individuals who are suspected of terrorism or sectarianism under Section 11EE of the ATA 1997. The duration for which the name of a suspect is placed is usually for three years, but its placement can be extended if required.
