KALAT: At least five police officials were killed and another was injured in Taliban attack of forces in Zabul province on Wednesday night.
The local security official told media that Taliban fighters attacked a police checkpoint in the Kalat city, the provincial capital Zabul province in which five policemen dead and one was injured.
After three hours the security forces recapture the check post from the Taliban, official told and adding that Taliban fighters took away weapons and other gadgets from the checkpoint.
Meanwhile, Zabul governor’s spokesman Gul Islam Siyal confirmed the incident. He however told that ten Taliban fighters were killed and injured when the police returned the fire, he added.
On the other side, the Taliban claimed causing casualties to multiple police personnel in the attack. Taliban took away weapons from the checkpoint.
