LAHORE: The shortage of fuel irking the commuters and residents of Lahore as disagreement was witness between the government and oil distributing companies.
As per detail, the oil distributors demanded to increase the price of fuel as the current prices is destroying their business however, the Finance and Commerce Ministry has refused to accept their demand and announced to continue with the current price.
All Pakistan Oil Tankers Association (APOTA), a few months back announced to go on a strike in protest against the OGRA for imposing safety rules. The association decided to stop the oil supply for an indefinite period in a result severe crisis as several fuel stations in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta, among other areas, closed shop owing to lack of supply and high demand.
Later, the third day of negotiations between the government and the All Pakistan Oil Tankers Association (APOTA) bore fruit as APOTA finally decided to call off its strike.
