F.P. Report

LAHORE: Government to provide full fledged security to the particiapants of sit-in which is announced by Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) and other parties on January 17.

Punjab government decided this in a meeting which was held on Monday night. The meeting decided that strict checking will be conducted at the city’s entry and exit points and the police officers will remain unarmed during the duty.

To ensure the security of the protestors, government decided to call police personnel from adjoining cities.

It is noteworthy that earlier this month, PAT chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri had announced to commence a campaign against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) government, starting January 17.

Almost all parties of the opposition, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), have already disclosed their decision to join PAT’s protest.
