Governor praises engineers’ role for country’s development

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said that Engineers played pivotal role in the development and progress of national coherence of our country. In this connection, Pakistan Engineering Universities played crucial role in producing engineers.

He expressed these views in a ceremony held in honor of Engineers day at governor’s house Peshawar on Thursday. Beside others, chairman Pakistan Engineering Council Engr. Jawad Salim Qureshi, Vice Chairman, Pakistan Engineering Council, KP Engr. Zahod Arif, Chief Executive PESCO Engr. Dr Zakaullah Khan Gandapur and distinguished engineers were also present on the occasion.

While addressing the ceremony the governor said that improvement in engineering discipline is the need of the modern technological advancement.

He further added that the Parliamentary Act of 1976 was a major step for the engineering sector of the country that paved the way for more vibrant role of Engineers in the Country’s development. Governor appreciated the efforts of Engineer Jawed Saleem Qureshi for his role in molding Pakistan Engineering Council on modern and scientific lines.

Governor also distributed performance Excellence Award to various Engineers on their worthy performance. Governor congratulated Engineers on winning awards. Chairman PEC has given gold medal to Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra. Chairman PEC also addressed the ceremony on occasion. Governor urged the PEC to continue work with more enthusiasm and assured full support.
