Headmasters demand one step promotion

LAKKI MARWAT: The district chapter of headmasters’ association has demanded of the provincial government to award one step promotion to the headmasters of public sector high schools and expedite the process of their promotion of next higher scales.

The demand was made at a meeting held here in Government Shaheed Muhammad Ghassan Khan Centennial Model High School in Lakki city on Tuesday. The association’s president Saifur Rehman presided over the meeting which was convened to elect new office bearers of the body.

The participants discussed problems faced by the community and decided to bring those into the higher quarters concerned of provincial government. They said that the headmasters of government run high schools were working in BPS-17 since pre-partition era.

“The successive governments failed to pay any heed to fulfilling the genuine demands of high schools bosses”, they maintained, adding that the headmasters always avoided launching agitation for acceptance of their genuine demands therefore they could not get the attention of rulers.

“To get one step promotion is the genuine and justified demand of headmasters and provincial government should accept it”, they added. At the meeting they also unanimously elected new office bearers of the association.

The new office holders included Malik Saifullah Khan as patron in chief, Saifur Rehman as President, Rashid Ahmad as general secretary, Faizullah Khan as senior vice president, Halim Khan and Nasrullah Jan as vice presidents, Kherullah Jan as joint secretary, Khan Muhammad as additional general secretary, Amir Khan as finance secretary, Nawaz Khan as press secretary and Sadullah Jan as coordination secretary.

Meanwhile, Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a woman three hours after she shot and wounded a man in Mohallah Totiabad locality of Lakki city.

Police said that one Ameer Shah was seriously wounded when he came under firing attack by a woman accessed Ms Gul Nara Bibi over a domestic dispute.

The injured Ameer Shah later told police in government city hospital that he was walking in the street in Mohallah Totiabad. He said that he confronted a woman Gul Nara Bibi who sprayed him with bullets and escaped in a motorcar. “The female attacker is the mother of my son in law Samiullah”, he added.

Soon after the incident two separate police parties headed by SHO Javed Khan and ASI Saboor Khan chased the female attacker and apprehended her along with two facilitators near Manjiwala chowk.

Police also impounded the motorcar she used for escape and registered a case against her and her facilitators including Nazir Khan and Gul Shah Jehan under relevant section of law in Lakki Marwat police station.
