NEW DELHI: Indian self proclaimed ‘godman’ Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was sentence to 10 years jail by an Indian judge after he convicted in rape case on Friday.
His followers went on deadly protest after his conviction in which 38 peoples were died.
Ram Niwas, a senior bureaucrat in charge of law and order in Haryana state of India told International news agency that the guru was sentence to 10 years to jail in raping two of his follower’s girl back in 2002.
Supporters of Gurmeet’s religious group was in large number in Haryana state and the local found him guilty in raping two women after that his followers started violent protest and in which 38 persons were killed and more than 200 were injured in it.
