KP advices health depart to follow vaccination act 2017

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has directed the health department to follow the vaccination act 2017 and advice the department to follow the act with its true spirit. This was said in a notification issue by the KP government to the health department a copy of which is available with The Frontier Post.

Meanwhile the health department also changes the schedule of vaccination program for children as now the children will get from six weeks to ten weeks Rota vaccine along with normal vaccination.

It was also said that the children will get normal vaccination while they will also get measles vaccination from six weeks to ten weeks.

It is further said in the notification that those children who were week for injectible vaccination they will not be vaccinated while special certificate of fitness will be issued to children for vaccination. The injectibe vaccination decision should be issued by the provincial Revive Committee

The health department also in its notification said that according to the vaccination Act 2017 special officer will be inducted while medical officer will be in charge of the vaccination in the Union Council. In the notification it was also said that Jail superintend should be in charge of Jail for vaccination campaign, adding that for child protection unit and principle of the school will be the in charge of the vaccination campaign.

In another good move by the health department and KP government that Burn & Trauma Centre for Peshawar will be start working in June 2018 this year. There were three consecutive government has completed its tenure including in KP but not completed the much awaited project of 120 bed hospital of the province as people of KP were shifted to Punjab and other area of Pakistan for burn treatment.
