PESHAWAR: Member National Assembly Sheryar Afridi has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made KP province as role model for the entire Pakistan and made the institution strengthen.
He added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made revolutionary steps and passed many resolutions from the KP assembly, adding that for the first time record budget were spending on education and health sector.
This he said on 2nd Advocacy Seminar for Health under the DFID/Palladium Funded/Community Uplift Program Implemented Community Score Card Project held here in a local hotel on Tuesday.
Sheryar appreciated the Community Uplift Program in district Charsadda on Basic Health Units, adding that the organization give voice to common people to raise their voice and asked for their rights.
He informed that KP government providing free health care treatment in all public health sector hospitals in the form of Sehat Insaf Card, MTI Act, Independent Monitoring Unit in health sector, Health Care Commission Act, Food Safety Authority Act, Social Health Protection Initiatives in 4 Districts, Chief Minister’s Special Initiative for Mother & Child Health and many other revolutionary steps has been taken by the government.
He added that if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf win the next general election they will not only strengthen further the service delivery in health sector in KP but as well as around the country and will provide all basic health facilities to the common citizen on their door steps.
On the occasion Colonel Iftikhar Ur Rahman, the Chief Executive of Community Uplift Program (CUP) Pakistan presented a detailed overview of the concept and the objectives of the Advocacy Seminar, for health care improvement within the framework of Community Score Card Methodology in District Charsadda of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The specific objectives of this Advocacy Seminar, he explained, is to influence key policy level stakeholders, using available evidence (2nd CSC results) for informed decision making to institutionalize Community Score Card model as a citizen-inclusive monitoring and planning method for the improvement in the quality of Primary Health Services in district Charsadda, KP.
The meeting was well attended by all key stakeholders including the elected Provincial Assembly Members from Charsadda, Representative of Independent Monitoring Unit, District Members& Chairman Health Monitoring Committee (Elected LG Member), Assistant Commissioner Charasadda and other health officials.
A resolution was tabled on behalf of 176 Lead Activists representing 98,363 Users of Primary Healthcare in the catchment areas of 43 BHUs of District CHARSADDA which urged the Health Department and Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to provide labor room in BHUs as there was no labor room in the entire 43 BHUs in Charsadda.
The resolution further demanded the notification of the 7 “Joint Citizen Monitoring Committees (JCMCs)” created as a body to oversee and implement the agreed action plans resulting from the Community Score Card Process.
The “Community Score Card” method must be adopted for other services such as education and also replicated throughout is adopted as regular process in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, demanded in the resolution.
