KP govt made all preparations for CPEC project, says Khattak

PESHAWAR:Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that CPEC is a game changer project for the region requiring high level of preparedness.
He said KP government made all preparations and took a number of concrete steps in this regard.
He said information technology is the most important sector for CPEC enhancing productive capacity of all other sectors and asked the educational institutions to focus attention on producing experts of information technology to be at home at all skills of IT including soft, hard wares, electronics, telecommunications and mobile communications etc to give boost to all developments under CPEC and non CPEC projects.
He also called upon the youth to attain high level of professionalism in IT as well as other spheres of higher education to ensure bright future of the nation.
He was addressing IT Infrastructure Inaugural Ceremony at Edwardes College, Peshawar.
It was also addressed by Principal of the college Prof. Dr. Nayer Fardows and other academicians who highlighted various aspects of the historical background of the college and features of the new IT infrastructure as well as appreciated the reforms initiatives of the provincial government.
The function besides the BoD members, professors and students of the college in a large number was also attended by the Advisor to the Chief Minister on Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also gave away shields and souvenirs to the professors and management of BSIT and IT Infrastructure Section of the college.
He said that our government is fully focused on education with emphasis on IT and technical education.
We are aware of our advantages and we are also aware of the CPEC bringing a new hope and future for our province. He said this province has become the most suitable destination for investment and industrialization. The only thing we need to do, is to enhance our level of preparedness and produce skilled manpower for the industrial needs in the backdrop of CPEC. We have already handed over training centres and management to Pakistan Air Force to run them on professional lines to produce skilled manpower.
Pervez Khattak said that education takes the center stage in our social sector reform agenda. “We have always held that education is the most important goal to be achieved. We believe in investing our energies, time and resources to providing quality education to all. We have been able to restore the confidence of masses in the public education sector”, he added.
He said the government of KP is addressing the educational challenge in a very comprehensive manner. We are on our way to make our schools at par with the private sector.
We have made a resolve to provide every student in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with an excellent learning environment. “We have ensured that schools are provided with missing facilities such as toilets, electricity, drinking water, furniture, IT labs and especially teachers to all schools”, he further said.
The Chief Minister lauded the role of Edwards College Peshawar for promotion of education. He said that this great institution of educational excellence has the reputation for producing great leaders discharging their responsibilities in all walks of life.
He said E-learning is certainly a new beginning that will add to the accomplishments of Edwardes College. He said this college is having a proven record of 117 years of successful educational services including the grooming of the students, academic growth and the spirited contributions in all disciplines of education.
