LHWs deprived from allowances for the last 18 months in KP

PESHAWAR: Lady Health Workers (LHW) criticized provincial government for not releasing their allowances for the last eighteen months and warned that if there allowances were not release immediately they will came out on the street for their demands.

Talking to media persons they said that federal government has allocated budget for LHWs and handed over the funds to provincial government but provincial government is not interested to release their allowances.

They said that lady healthy workers are working day and night to provide health facilities to the common people at their door step and in case of any emergency and polio campaign they are working hard to attend their duty but unfortunately they were not been given their reward timely.

They said that they were not paid a single penny from 2012 to 2015 by the provincial government and despite this that federal government have released funds for their salaries  and other allowances but provincial government was not interested to hand over the amount.

They demanded Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to issue directives for release of their allowances otherwise they will stage sit-in in front of Chief Minister House.

When contacted with LHWs representative on phone but despite several attempts to take the views no one responded.
