LHC ordered to make public judicial report on Model town killings

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court ordered the Punjab government to make public the enquiry report of Justice Baqir Najfi regarding the Model Town incident.

Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi while hearing a petition which was filed by the families of those injured in the 2014 clashes with police in Lahore to make the inquiry report public.

Earlier, it was reported that a three member bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) will start hearing on September 25, the petition demanding to public the report of Model Town incident.

A three-member bench of LHC headed by interim Chief Justice Yawar Ali will hear the petition.

Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Tahirul Qadri has continuously demanded to made public the report of Justice Baqir Najfi regarding the Model Town incident and adding the if Shahbaz Sharif is innocent than why he is stopping to made it public the report of Model Town incident.

CM Shahbaz Sharif is responsible for the tragedy that is why he creating hurdles in making the report public and even after three years, Qadri claimed.

Qadri in his sit-in in 2014 said that 14 innocent persons were killed in Model Town and murderers behind the killing of innocent civilians are enjoying the power corridors which are not acceptable in any manners.
