NAB team arrives in London to collect evidence against Sharif family in Avenfield apartments

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team reached London to meet with the home office officials and collect records and evidence in connection to the Avenfield flats which is owned by Hasan and Hussain Nawaz.

The NAB team reached London on Tuesday night and it is clear that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was unable to produce any solid evidence for action during its probe in London against the Sharif family during Panama case hearing.

Private news channel claimed that Sultan Nazir and Imran Dogar of NAB investigating the Avenfield flats. Earlier JIT under Wajid Zia’s leadership they had claimed of collecting actionable evidence but now it seems that they were wrong so the NAB arrived in London to collect some solid evidence against the Sharif family to take action against them.

Lawyers, Akhtar Raja and Toby Cadman had written several letters to the Home Office seeking Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) in relation to British national Hasan Nawaz Sharif, who has lived in London for over two decades.

Deputy Director Sultan Nazeer, who is case officer in Avenfield Reference, and Imran Dogar who is investigation officer in the said reference, will also meet officials of Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Home Office and other officials concerned in London, added the officials.

The NAB has filed four corruption references against the Sharif family and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar related to their Avenfield properties and multiple companies.
