Nawaz uses abusive language against judiciary: Nafeesa

PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Secretary Information Nafeesa Shah expressed her regret over using contemptuous language against judiciary by disqualified Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Safdar and saying the judiciary be respected. Interestingly, the former provincial minister of Sindh government, Sharjeel Memon is behind the bars but on the other side, the ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz vigorously using contemptuous language against judiciary but could not be held, said Nafeesa Shah while at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Wednesday.

She said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz despite 70 percent in power in the country and with protocol of several vehicles, the disqualified Nawaz Sharif was constantly weeping and speaking against judiciary.

Rejecting the stance of Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan to take to the streets against Nawaz Sharif and the federal government if any step was taken against judiciary, she said, no need to come on roads in defense of apex court, as it is a powerful institution of Pakistan ad it knows how to defend itself.

Flanked by former Senator and present candidate for the same slot, Robina Khalid, provincial president PPP women wing, MPA  Nighat Orakzai, Shaziya Tehmas and other women, the PPP secretary information alleged that disqualified Mian Nawaz Sharif wanted to pit Parliament against judiciary by using contemptuous remarks, adding that he (Nawaz ) had adopted the way of confrontation.

Dispelling the impression that she has been given task for intermingling regarding the upcoming Senate elections, she said that as she had been handed over slot of central secretary information, wanted to have a get together with journalists’ community across the country.

Responding to different queries, she said that Naqeebullah Mahsud is martyred and all of her party sympathies with his family adding that the Sindh government-led by PPP, was severely against extra judicial killing and that’s the reason that the Joint Investigation team (JIT) had issued report, in which, Naqeeb Mahsud was implicated, “the PPP wants exemplary punishment to Rao Anwar if found guilty”, he demanded.

Ms Shah said that the PPP was symbol of federation and it was the only political party, believed in strong federation and provinces as 18th Amendment are the ample of the party to give name to KP province and empowered all the provinces of the country.

She said, the PPP stance was very clear about merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province as she added that former prime minister martyred Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had formed a committee headed by late Naseerullah Babar in 1970 regarding FATA reforms but unfortunately, what had been done with Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto at that time, the nation knows it.
