LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif has uplifted the image of Pakistan internationally.
The PML-Q leader, speaking to journalists on Saturday, said that the former prime minister is calling people to come on street against the judiciary and the armed forces of the country, but the people are not responding to the call of a disqualified premier.
The PML-Q leader said the Constitution calls for the completion of the assemblies’ tenure, not prime ministers.
“This is the third consecutive assembly completing its term. Nawaz Sharif’s party is in power even after his disqualification,” said Elahi and added that Nawaz was disqualified by the Supreme Court.
The PML-Q leader claimed that foreign envoys in Islamabad called the Supreme Court’s decision ‘historic’. “Almighty gave three opportunities to Nawaz Sharif and he failed in every one of them,” he added.
“Nawaz and Shehbaz are promising to bring a revolution, after ruling for more than 25 years, they are promising a revolution after disqualification.”
He said that after the disqualification of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Nawaz Sharif welcomed the decision, saying that there is no law of the jungle in the country, now today he wants to bring back the same law from his rally of patwaris and government employees.
“There is no point of any protest if it’s without agenda,” he said.
