Old enmity converts into friendship in Swabi

SWABI: Two families on Wednesday have peacefully resolved over 100 years blood feud and taken oath on the Holy Quran that they forgave each other for ever and the killing of two precious lives one of the two sides.

A gathering in this connection was held in Swabi Adda Mosque which was attended by elders and members of Tehsil Razaar Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) who made it possible through continuous serious efforts, played a key role in the solution.

The blood was between Muqadar Bacha and Manaras Khan families of Palusai village, Tehsil Razar. The feud started with killing of one of the members of Muqadar Bacha’s family over 100 years back over trivial issue and the fresh rivalry erupted when Manaras and Qaisar were killed in 2013.

There was a serious danger of more killings because the victim family wanted to take revenge, targeting the rivals who remained alert for self defense. Jehanzeb Kaka, general secretary and other members, including the police officials said on the occasion that if the dispute could not resolve in initial stage that could lead to more killings and wastage of money and time as well.

They said that when the rivalry transfers to the young generation that cause great financial lose and the youth of could not acquire education while remaining submerge completely in the killings each other.

Two killed: Two people were killed and two others injured in two separate incidents on Wednesday, said police. An auto rickshaw and loaded truck collided with each other near Kunda village on Jehangira-Swabi road. As result a commuter identified as Aitibar Shah was killed on the spot and rickshaw driver Sajjad Khan and another commuter Wadan Shah were injured. In Yar Hussain village, one Habibullah was killed when Hamad Khan allegedly opened fire on him after their exchanging of hot words. An FIR has been registered in Yar Hussain police station and police have started investigations.
