Pak-Afghan border fully secure: Col Aamir

TIMERGARA:  The commandant Dir Task Force Colonel Aamir Shehzad on Wednesday said that Pak Afghan border in Lower Dir and Bajaur was made fully secure and there has been no threat of militants’ sneaking. Addressing a jirga of elders and administration officers at Toor Ghundai the commandant said that collective efforts of security forces, administration and public needed for better border management.

The commander peace ‘lashkar’ Khan Bacha, religious cleric Qazi Aziz ul Haq Usmani and Samar Bagh tehsil nazim Saeed Ahmad Bacha also spoke on the occasion.

The DTF commandant said the militants were now searching soft targets for their nefarious designs that showed their weakness. He asked area elders and the administration to keep vigilant eye on suspicious activities and inform the authorities of law enforcement agencies when they watched such activities.

The area elders said that peace ‘lashkar’ role was vital for maintenance of peace in the region. They said the public had been supporting security forces. The commander Jandol Battalion Colonel Shahid Aman, Major Tariq, DSP Ajmal Khan, PTI Lower Dir president Bashir Khan and Munda tehsil nazim Humayun Khan were also present on the occasion
