Pakistan, India to hold discussion on water next week in Washington

WASHINGTON: Pakistan and India will hold another round of dialogue in Washington on September 14-15 over the construction of two hydropower projects in Jammu Kashmir, the dilouge will be holding in the presence of World Bank officials to reach an acceptable solution with consent of both the parties.

The first session of discussion was held last month and the coming session will be totally technical discussion on Ratle and Kishanganga power projects, the official informed media persons.

Last year Pakistan approached World Bank and raised its objections over the designs of the two under construction projects which India wants to complete as early as possible to utilized its quota of water under the IWT.

On the other hand Pakistan believes that existing designs of these two power projects will disturb the enough water flow to its side.
