LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for NA-120 by-election and wife of former PM Nawaz Sharif, Kulsoom Nawaz nomination papers were challenged in election commission of Pakistan (ECP) by Ishtiaq Chaudhry of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
The applicant said in a petition that PML-N is registered on the name of Nawaz Sharif and who has been disqualified by SC in Panama case and now it is illegal that the party on the disqualified persons can participate in the election process and the nomination paper of candidate of such party should be rejected.
It is to be notified that 65 candidates have submitted their nominations papers for the vacant seat of NA-120 after the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif by SC in Panama case. The inspection process of nomination papers will be started from today (Tuesday) and will continue till 17 August. The election will be on vacant seat on 17 September.
