PHC dismissed stay order of DG, PDA

PESHAWAR:  Peshawar High Court dismissed the stay order of Director General Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) Saleem watto and order National Accountability Bureau to launch inquiry against the alleged corruption in awarding of contracts to their blue eyed people.

The petition was filed by the Hayatabad resident society in which they have states that around 20 complaints have been filed in National Accountability Bureau against Director General PDA for his alleged corruption and favoritism in awarding of various contracts.

However the Director General took stat order from Peshawar High court which later dismissed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and directed the NAB high ups to launch inquiry.

The petitioner lawyer said that there are clear cut and undeniable proofs against the accuse DG Peshawar Development Authority for giving contracts of billon of rupees regarding various developmental schemes without any tender.

The petitioner requested to vacate the stay order and open the case on the basis of complaint filed by the Hayatabad resident’s society.   In the wake of complains of the Peshawar High Court ordered National Accountability Bureau to open the case for inquiry.
