PTI legislators criticize own govt for not releasing gas royalty

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker in the provincial assembly Gul Sahib Khan from district Karak on Monday spoke against his own government when Deputy Speaker did not allow him to speak on Point of Order.

During the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session chaired by Deputy Speaker Dr. Mehar Taj Roghani PTI MPA Gul Sahib Khan raised Point of Order but the Deputy Speaker did not allow him and directed the routine agenda to be followed.

The angry MPA started shouting as he lost his patience and temper asking the Chair to listen his point of order as the MPA boycott the session and the opposition members also show their sympathies and boycott the session as well.

Latter while talking with Media Gul said that he was discussing an important issue on Gas royalty of district Kohat , adding that the people of his area were asking him for Gas royalty and if he can’t speak for the right of the people of his area he has no right to sit in the assembly.

He further said that the provincial government is getting its oil and gas royalty share from the federal government in time but it is not paying us our 10% share in that money for the past two years and Rs 4.5 billion of royalty are pending to be released for these district in the past two years.

He further informed that speaker assembly Asad Qaiser had given ruling from his chair directing the authorities concerned to release the 10% royalty funds but so far no action was taken.

Gul added that the royalty share is my constitutional right and it has been secured through the current petroleum policy as well, adding and asking the K-P government to immediately release the Rs 4.5 billion money to the districts and give their due rights to the people of his area.

The deputy speaker adjourns the session till Tuesday.
