Road safety seminar held at Universtity of Wah

WAH: “The youth if follow road safety rules and obey traffic laws while on the wheel can minimize the graph of road accidents in Pakistan”, this was stated by Aftab Ahmad Mahsud,Senior Superintendent of National Highways and Motorway Police of Islamabad Peshawar sector.

He was addressing to a road safety seminar at University of Wah. The seminar was organized by NH&MP to inculcate road sense among the students and educate them on the important road safety tips. The seminar was largely attended by the students, faculty members of the University and motorway police officials. Mr. Mahsud advised the students to obey road laws and co-operate with the traffic cops to have safe travels on the highways.

He also requested the participants to become ambassadors of motorway police and spread the message of road safety to their loved ones. Earlier Inspector Basir Ilyas  of Motorway Police gave a detailed presentation on multimedia and educated the audience on the road laws and regulations .

As the target of the seminar were the young audience, hence they were requested to avoid use of mobile phone and ,not to over speed  while they are on the steering wheel. They were urged upon to use safety seat belts, helmets and refrain from reckless driving. Mr.Basir also displayed some road safety video clips during the event that were equally liked by all.

A question Answer session was also held whereby the officers efficiently responded. It is to be mentinoed here that a road safety stall had also been established on the occasion by the motorway police in which all the gadgets being used by the force in routine patrolling duties were exhibited.

The students and faculty member visited the stall and took keen interest in the speed checking system and other displayed items. Road safety leaflets and brochures were also distributed among the students. The Vice Chancellor of University Brig (Retd) Aftab Sadi was the chief guest on the occasion. He during his speech appreciated the efforts and role of NH&MP in equal enforcement of road laws and educating the masses.

He also emphasized upon the students and faculty members to obey road laws.
