RPO shows satisfaction over security arrangements

HAFIZABAD: Regional Police Officer Dr. Sultan Ahmad Taimoori and Commissioner Gujranwala Capt. (R) Muhammad Asif have expressed their satisfaction over the foolproof security arrangements made by the district administration on the eve of Ashura-i- Muharram to ensure peace in the district.

Both the Officers reviewed the arrangements made by the police to prevent any untoward incident in the District.

The Acting DC and DPO told them that 1300 security personnel besides four teams of Elite Force and large number of Police Qoumi Razzakars are being deputed to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the district. They further told them that on ninth and tenth Muharram- ul- Haram,64 Alam, Zuljinnah and Tazia processions would be taken out from different places in Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian and other towns and 160 CCTV cameras are being installed for strict  monitoring of the Majalis and processions.

Moreover, two control rooms have been established in Hafizabad and Pindi Bhattian.

Meanwhile, pillion riding and perching atop the buildings en route the processions and places of majalis have been prohibited Under Section 144 Cr.P.C. Besides, strict pickets have been established to search all the vehicles in the entry points of the district. In addition to this, all the streets and roads leading to places of Majalis are being blocked by parking big trollies and barbed wires in the evening since the start of this month.
