Sri Lankan cricket team reaches Lahore for final T20I against Pakistan

LAHORE: The Pakistan and Sri Lankan cricket teams arrived in Lahore in the wee hours of Sunday morning to play the third T20I of the series in the Lahore.

The teams were shifted to hotel from Allama Iqbal International Airport in a tight security. The Sri Lankan team is led by the all rounder Thisara Perera after the regular captain Upal Tharanga was pulled out from the third T20I against Pakistan in Lahore.

Pakistan leading the series with 2-0 and eyeing on another white wash against the islanders after the one day series.

It will be a historic day for Pakistan cricket and will mark the homecoming of top-level international cricket as the Sri Lankan is the first team to visit Pakistan since they were targeted in 2009 in Lahore.

Tens of thousands of security personnel have been deployed in Lahore to guard routes to the stadium for the occasion, while air surveillance and intelligence monitoring is also in place as Pakistan rolls out head-of-state level measures.
