Three IS recruiters perish in drone strike

ASADABAD: A drone strike killed three recruiters of Islamic State (IS) or Daesh in eastern Nuristan, officials said Monday.

The unmanned aircraft of NATO-led foreign forces conducted the strike in the Kond village of Want Waigal district, Muhammad Saeed Momand, spokesman of Nuristan governor, told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).

He said three members of Daesh recruitment commission were killed in the strike, adding the slain people were Afghans.

Momand said investigations were ongoing.

Sometimes ago, Nuristan governor Hafiz Abdul Qayum had denied the presence of any Daesh member in the province but later bloody clash took place between Taliban and Daesh in the same province wherein both the sides suffered heavy casualties.
