Tribesmennallege officials issuing CNIC to Afghan citizen

PESHAWAR: The elders of Kodi Khel, Mohmand Agency have expressed their dissatisfaction over issuance of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) to Afghan national Hamid Khan and asked Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Core Commander Peshawar to initiate probe into this matter and detain involved officials.

Alleging the officials of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) of illegally incorporating Afghan national into Kodi Khel tribe, the elders and maliks of Kodi Khel tribe during a news conference said the political administration was mum over the matter. An Afghan national known as Hamid Khan is illegally granted CNIC, they alleged.

Malik Abdullah along with others on the occasion said the political administration, local maliks and NADRA officials were involved in making CNIC for Hamid Khan after taking lump sum bribe. Hamid Khan, he said was an influential person who belongs to Nangarhar province of Afghanistan and currently dwells at Warsak road Peshawar.

He said the Afghan citizen with the connivance of the local malik has bought acres of land in Kodi Khel village of Mohmand Agency while still acquiring lands on account of his Pakistani national identity card.

He demanded of the Governor KP and Core Commander Peshawar to take stern action against those officials who are involved in making CNIC to the Afghan imposter.
