Twelve milk sellers arrested

PESHAWAR: District administration in collaboration with Livestock Department conducted raids in different parts of the city and arrested 12 milk sellers for adulteration.

On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Islamzeb, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (ACC), Salahuddin and officers of Livestock Department along with mobile milk testing laboratory checked sellers in Tehkal, Jehangirabad and University Road.

During the checking the joint team checked the samples of milk and arrested 12 milk sellers for proving adulteration of sufficient water in their products.

The Deputy Commissioner has directed all Additional Assistant Commissioners for collecting samples from milk sellers on regular basis to send them to laboratory for analysis and free Peshawar of the adulterated milk.

Meanwhile, the teams of the district administration also conducted raids on various restaurants and arrested the managers of Shinwari Restaurant, Jamal Restaurant and New Shinwari Restaurant for poor cleanliness conditions.

The teams of the district administration checked the kitchens of these restaurants and expressed anguish over poor cleanliness conditions.
