TIMERGARA: The rain related incidents in Lower Dir claimed two lives while rain in plains and snowfall on hill tops stopped on Tuesday. Majority of hill tops at Maram Adenzai, Toor Mang, Luqman Banda, Barikot Talash, Shahi and Bin Shahi and upper parts of Maidan received record snowfall during the recent spell.
Two women were killed when roof of a mud-made kitchen caved in at Hasham village due to recent torrential rains in the limits of Munda police station here on Monday night, residents and police said.
They said the women identified as wife of Abdar Khan and daughter of Naseeb Bacha were busy in cooking when roof of the kitchen caved in. The locals retrieved the bodies and shifted them to the nearby Munda hospital where the doctors proclaimed them dead. The Lower Dir district police officer Nowsher Khan and assistant commissioner Jandol Noor ul Amin visited the house and expressed grief over the incident. They also assured the family of government assistance and cooperation.
