LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief, Dr Tahirul Qadri said, on Tuesday, that the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif in Supreme Court recent verdict was in fact revenge for the 2014 Model Town incident.
This he said while addressing to media persons at Allama Iqbal International as he arrived from Doha, Qatar. Large of devotees were present on the airport to welcome their leader.
PAT officials told that Tahir-ul-Qadri expected to lead a rally from the Airport to Nasir Bagh and adding that he would announce his future strategy at Nasir Bagh.
Crticizing Nawaz he said why he was protesting and against whom and adding that GT Road Party will be buried on the same road.
On this occasion he remembered the PAT members who died in the June 2014 incident, where at least 14 PAT activists were killed in an unwarranted police action against the party’s offices in the Model Town area of Lahore.
Qadri and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a joint protest ‘sit-in’ in 2014 against the government in Islamabad, however, the parties parted ways some time later.
