Will introduce Dolphin Force in other cities as well: CM Shehbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that it is government’s duty to protect the citizens, and announced to introduce Dolphin Force (DF) in other cities of Pakistan as well.

The Chief Minister expressed his views while addressing the passing out parade of the Dolphin Force at Police Training College Chung, and said DF have set a great example of performing wonderful duty.

Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the 696 candidates who passed out after completing their training, and said he is confident that all of them will meet the expectations of the people and improve the image of Punjab police by curbing the crime.

He also expressed the hope that the newly formed Dolphin Force would improve Punjab police image. The chief minister said the force has been formed to safeguard the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in the province.

“The idea of having such [kind of] force has been taken from Turkey. I hope this force will set a similar standard of Turkish smart policing here,” CM Sharif anticipated. Shehbaz said that Dolphin Force have been given the best training, and asked the force to now prove their eligibility.

He also advised them to always show good behavior during their duty. The passed out officers will be posted in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur and Faisalabad.

The chief minister further added that Punjab government has spent billions of rupees on police’s training which have given unlimited sacrifices while fighting against terrorism.

The provincial government has spent funds worth billions of rupees on the formation of Dolphin Force. As many as 700 policemen were equipped with smart devices since its formation back in 2013.

Moreover, the chief minister anticipated that the force would set examples with regard to rooting out crimes in the province.
