World XI to play series in Pakistan annually for next three years: Najam Sethi

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi has said Pakistan host World XI annually for next three years as Pakistan took a giant step for the revival of international cricket in the country.

This he said while talking to foreign media at Qaddafi stadium in Lahore. Sethi said that the recent tour of World XI is the first series and two series will be organize in the coming two years and adding that hopefully other teams  will also touring to Pakistan after the World XI series.

Najam Sethi claimed that the Sri Lankans have committed to play in Lahore once the World XI series is done and then the West Indies have also promised that they will tour to Pakistan in November.

The World XI tour was dinalized after the security clearance of Security experts of various boards and ICC came to PSL final in Lahore and then they gave green signals for the series, Sethi added.

In the first match of series, Pakistan, set a target of 198 for the World XI in which Babar Azam hit a quick 86 runs on 52 balls, however the World XI was not able achieve the target and Pakistan won by 20 runs.
