WUS, PCSIR to initiate joint projects

SWABI: Women University Swabi (WUS) and Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday for initiating joint research projects in various fields of interest. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Khanzadi Fatima Khattak, Vice -Chancellor of Women University and Engr. Irfan Ahmad Rabbani, Director General PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Peshawar.

Dr. Shahzad Alam, Chairman, PCSIR and academicians of the WUS were also present at the occasion. Briefing media about the MoU Prof. Dr. Khanzadi Fatima Khattak said that the officials of the two organizations agreed to collaborate with each other in the best interests of the country while concentrating on the research according to the needs and requirements of the country.

She said that the areas identified for future collaboration are medicinal plant research, herbal drug development, materials sciences and women entrepreneurship which considered vital for the women empowerment and standing on their own feet in the society. “Joint student’s supervision, trainings, workshops, seminars will be other forms of joint ventures and research activities,” she said.

In this regards, researchers and officials of both organizations would develop processes and technologies for exploitation of indigenous natural resources for developing value added products, said Prof. Khanzadi.

Besides, PCSIR laboratories would provide access to the students and researchers of the of the women university while using the scientific instruments and pilot plants. M. Phil. and Ph.D. scholars of newly established University would benefit from these arrangements. Before signing the MoU, Chairman PCSIR, Dr. Shahzad Alam gave detail presentation about research, development, accreditation, trainings programs of the organization.

The women university academia lauded the continued research activities which would prove very helpful for the women university scholars. Concluded: The three days ijtema Ishaat Wa Tauheed Wal Sunnah (IWTWS) ay Panjpir concluded with Dua (pray) on Sunday.

The gathering was attended by leaders of religious parties and workers IWTWS from all over the country. They stayed at Pajpir to hear the religious scholars who spoke about the problem confronted by the Muslims and Pakistan. Maunala Tayyab said that from the platform on the ijtema the religious scholars and leaders of the various parties have pledged that they would confront the great challenges to the Islamic belief and Muslims with concentration and determination while gathering on a signal platform at Panjpir.

“Unity is essence of our struggle and the efforts would be for the pious religion of Islam and its followers,” he said. Participants said that they would continue their struggle against the anti-Muslim forces who bent upon to harm the pious religion of Islam. Dua (pray) was one of the important parts of the Panjpir Ijtema and a number of people from various regions specially reached for participating in the dua.

Maulana Muhammad Tayyab, chief of IWTWS offered the Dua which was an emotional and heart touching movement. Meanwhile the three days gathering of Jamait Ulema-i-Islam-Fazal was also concluded at Zarobi on Sunday. The JI leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri spoke about the religious issues and problems confro9nt by the religious parties. He spoke in detail about the Khatam-e-Nabuwat and agitation plan of the religious parties to pres the government.
