Youth to come forward for eradication of corruption: DG NAB

Karachi: The Director General (DG) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Mohammad Altaf Bawany has stressed the youth to play their role in eradication of corruption in the society.

He said this, while addressing a awareness seminar organized by NAB in collaboration with Dawood University of Engineering & Technology at University campus on “Role of Youth, Fight Against Corruption “.

DG NAB has underlined the role of youth in eradication of corruption from society and said that a society that adopts corruption as a norm, requires fresh blood to come forward and contribute in nation building.

The Director General (DG) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Mohammad Altaf Bawany said that responsibility heavily lies on the shoulders of our youth to become part of struggle to root out corruption adding that to achieve this objective, NAB has formed Character Building Societies at schools, colleges and universities level and in the spirit of prevention of corruption rather than enforcement, various Government departments are also being reached out.

He dilated upon irregularities and malpractices prevalent in various Universities for which NAB recently issued an advisory, a document containing advices on streamlining matters of appointments and financial matters in accordance with law and rules.

The Director General (DG) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Mohammad Altaf Bawany also said that teachers may also play their role actively to purge this society of menace of corruption, nepotism and culture of bribery by training the youth, imparting education and character building.
