1 killed, dozens injured as tornadoes hit eastern China

BEIJING (AA): At least one person was killed and dozens more were injured when tornadoes struck Dongming county in East China’s Shandong province on Friday afternoon, the Global Times reported.

Local authorities have confirmed one death and 79 injuries so far. The extent of the damage is still being assessed, according to the daily.

Emergency response measures have been activated in the affected region.
