JALALABAD: Ten Islamic State fighters were killed in separate airstrikes in Khugiyani and Pacheer Agam districts in Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.
According to a press release issued by Afghan National Army 201 Sailab military corps, six Islamic State gunmen including a commander identified as Yasir Khurasani were killed in a drone strike of the foreign forces in Waziro Tangi area in the limits of Khugiyani district. A machinegun was also destroyed in the blitz.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by the defence ministry stated that 10 Daesh or Islamic State fighters were killed and a base was eliminated as a result of airstrikes in Khugiyani and Pacheer Agam districts.
The press release did not show the exact time of the airstrikes. The Islamic State did not say anything in this regard till the filling of this report.
