Municipal committee approves Rs484 million annual budgets for 2017-18

ZHOB: The District Municipal Committee presented its annual development and non-development expenditure budget. Total volume of the budget is over four hundred and eighty four million rupees. The annual budget unanimously approved by the house amounting to Rs484 million for the 2017-18.

Deputy Chairman Haji Naseeb Khan Nasar presided over the budget session, while attended by Chairman MC Abdul Saleem Mandokhail, Chief Officer Musa Khan Luni, Gulzar Khan and counselors in larger number.

Giving the features of the budget, deputy chairman said that Rs62 million have been allocated for the non-development works and office expenditures, Rs26 million for machinery, while Rs367 million for installation of solar system, park renovation, students scholarships, traffic control system, roads repair, PCC, purchasing of sewing machines, wheel chairs and for the construction of library and water tank have been earmarked.

Chairman Abdul Saleem Mandokhail, Councilors Abdul Razzaq Mandokhail, Shah Baran Kakar, Engineer Abdul Rehman Mandokhail, Haji Noor Muhammad Safi, Abdul Aziz Advocate, Allah Yar Mandokhail, Zadran Kharoti, Sadiq Kakar, Hafeezullah Kharoti, Hazar Khan Kibzai, Nadir Shah Kakar and Aziz Shah Mandokhail also spoke on the occasion. They said the members of the house would consider solving the masses issues and services delivery as top priority.

They expressed hope that the newly approved budget would be as per aspirations and desires of the citizens and herald an era of progress and prosperity. They emphasized that the counselors should make efforts to address the masses issues in their respective wards indiscriminately with dedication and ensure proper supervision of development works.

“All available resources would be utilized for the welfare of masses and resolving the problems being faced by the citizens.” The elected local body members vowed.

It is worth mentioning that, earlier this year the municipal committees and the district councils had demanded administrative, financial and legal powers under Article 141/A of the Constitution that enable them to carry out their work in a befitting manner.
