12 killed, scores missing as Rohingya boat capsizes

COX’S BAZAR: As many as 12 people killed and dozens others were missing Monday after a boat carrying Rohingya refugees, mostly children, overturned and created more pain for those who left Myanmar’s Rakhine State.

The officials of coast guard and border guard told media that the boat was congested with about 100 people mostly children when it sank late Sunday in Naf River.

Abdul Jalil an official of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) told international news agency that so far 12 bodies had been recovered including 10 children after a all-night rescue operation.
