13 killed in suicide attack on Afghan Army convoy

HELMAND: At least 13 people were killed and several others were injured in a Taliban suicide attack on Afghan soldiers convoy in Helmand province.

Omar Zwak, Spokesperson of provincial governor told media that suicide bomber blew detonated an explosive-filled car near the Afghan National Army convoy when it was passing a small market in Nawa District of Helmand.

He added that soldiers and civilians were among the dead and dozens others were also injured.

Hospital officials confirmed that majority of the killed are Afghan soldiers and mostly the injured are civilians. The Taliban claimed the responsibility while informing the local journalists.
