LAHORE: In a big political move, 13 important leaders have joined the party ranks of Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q).
Among the newly joined members are former ministers, former members of parliament and ticket holders. The leaders announced their joining of the party in a meeting with acting Governor Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Wednesday.
Former textile minister Mushtaq Ahmed Cheema from Faisalabad, former MPAs Mian Asghar Ali and Deewan Ikhlaq from Okara, former town mayor Sajjad Haider, ticket holders Khalid Mehmood, Rai Qadir, Khalid Pervaiz, Sadaqat Khan Lodhi, Ziaullah Gujjar, Rehan Kisana, Haji Abdul Qadir, Arif Cheema and Amir Warraich joined PML-Q.
A ceremony was held at Governor House, Lahore to commemorate this occasion where Pervaiz Elahi welcomed them into the party and announced to award important positions to the newly joined members in local body elections.
He said that PML-Q only works for the betterment of the people and does not indulge in dirty politics. Our work speaks for itself as our only aim is to serve the masses, he added.
