135 more people succumb to Covid-19 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The third wave of corona pandemic seems to be unrelenting as 135 more people have succumbed to Covid-19.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) statement issued on Tuesday, Covid-19 claimed lives of another 135 people during the last 24 hours raising the number of fatalities to 19,752. It said the positivity rate remained 8.6%.

According to NCOC statistics, 882,928 have been infected while 795,511 patients recovered from the disease. It said there were presently 4,799 active cases being treated in the hospitals.

Giving a breakdown of fatalities, it said in Sindh 4,824 people died of Covid-19, in Punjab 9,500, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3,804, in Islamabad 733, in Balochistan 267, in Gilgit-Baltistan 107 and in Azad Kashmir 517 people lost their lives to corona.
