14 Taliban killed, injured in Kandahar

KANDAHAR: The Afghan forces killed 5 Taliban militants and wounded at least 6 others during an operation in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.

The 205th Atal Corps in a statement said a group of Taliban militants planned to launch attacks in Panjwai district.

However, the Atal Corps said the Afghan forces conducted in operation to thwart the attack plan and killed 5 Taliban militants during the operation.

The Afghan forces also wounded 6 other militants during the same raid, the 205th Atal Corps added in its statement.

Meanwhile, the Special Operations Corps in a statement said the Afghan Special Forces killed 3 Taliban militants during a similar raid in Nasi district of Badakhshan province.

The Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far.

This comes as Taliban militants are persistently attempting to intensify attacks against the Afghan forces despite ongoing efforts to end the violence through peace process. (Khaama Press)
