1650 suspects including 161 POs arrested

KOHAT: Kohat Police arrested 161 Proclaimed offenders among 1650 suspect criminals during last month of October in the ongoing operation in different parts of the district.

On the directives of District Police Officer Kohat Javed Iqbal, the district Police raided several parts of the district especially houses of proclaimed offenders wanted in murder, attempted murder, robbery, kidnapping, abduction and other such heinous nature cases. During the operation the police apprehended 161 proclaimed offenders wanted in murder, attempted murder and other such henious cases. The police also rounded up 1650 suspect criminals during raids. During last one month operation the police also seized 160 kalashnekoves, 7 kalakoves, 53 rifles, 44 shotguns, 320 pistols, over 7000 bullets, 520 kg hashish, 170 grams opium, 120 grams heroin and 300 Litre of Liqure . During the raids the police was also backed by the elite force commandos, bomb disposal squad, leady police and armored personnel carriers, especially during the areas bordering to tribal belt.

Meanwhile a meeting chaired by additional SP Operations Kohat Jamil Akhtar to review the crime ratio and security situation in the district. The meeting was attended by all Station House Officers (SHO’s) and investigation officers of all circles. The participants of the meeting were tasked to trace out the proclaimed offenders and use all kinds of resources for their arrest and asked to collect the data of those culprits who were escaped after committing the crime.

He emphasized police officers that make sure the Identity Card and Mobile numbers of complainant and accused must be entered in FIR. The SP operations Jamil Akhtar has called upon the subordinate police officials to leave no stone unturned in ensuring protection of people’s life and properties. He said that efficient performance by police personnel was helpful to win the trust of people. He further added that the operation will be continue to purge the area from criminals and anti state elements and the police is fully capable of countering any kind of challenge effectively.
