2 ANA troops, 8 Taliban killed

HERAT: Two Afghan National Army (ANA) troops and eight Taliban were killed during a clash in the restive Shindand district. Taliban gunmen attacked an ANA post in the Chishma area of Shindand district last night, sparking a gunfight, said Jilani Farhad, spokesman of Herat governor.

He said two Afghan troops and eight Taliban were killed and seven fighters wounded in the clash, adding situation was clam and the Taliban retreated from the area. Taliban have increased attacks in different provinces since they launched their traditional spring offensive “Al-Khandaq”.
