KABUL: At least two people lost their lives and more than 20 others sustained injuries in an explosion in southeastern Khost province of Afghanistan.
According to the local officials, the incident took place at around noon time in the provincial capital of the province. Gul Habib Shah, provincial public health director of Khost has confirmed that all those killed or wounded are ordinary civilians.
In the meantime, the local security and government officials are saying that the incident took place after a motorcycle laden with explosives was detonated in a busy part of the city.
The officials further added that 25 people have sustained injuries in the explosion and two others have died.
No individual or group including Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
This comes as an explosion left a number of civilians dead in southeastern Paktika province of Afghanistan on Monday. The incident took place inside a market in Jani Khel district of the province, leaving at least six dead including two children. (Khaama Press)
