KABUL: Ministry of Defense (MoD) told media that at least 20 gunmen were killed and dozens other were injured in airstrikes conducted in different part of Afghanistan in last two days.
MoD issued a statement in this regard and it added that airstrikes were carried out in the past two days against the militants in different parts of the country as part of the ongoing counter-terrorism and clearance operations.
It added at least two IS militants were killed and their hideout was destroyed in an airstrike conducted in Achin district of Nangarhar and as many as eight militants were killed in a airstrike conducted in Kapisa province of Afghanistan.
Similarly, the forces conducted an airstrike in Shindand district of Herat province, in which five gunmen were killed and seven others were injured.
Moreover, four militants including a commander of the militant group were killed in an airstrike conducted in Dasht-e-Archi district of Kunduz.
The Afghan national defense and security forces have stepped up counter-terrorism operations to suppress the insurgency activities of the militant groups.
